Classes - Fur and Leather Techniques

Instruction with an interactive approach for those who would like to add skills to their design portfolio or the DIYer who desires to dress themselves or a loved one like a rock star on a dime.

Class size is limited and instructed by Carole McClellan, award winning designer with 35 years industry experience in fur and leather at her Pioneer Square atelier in the heart of Seattle.

Basic techniques of repair, care of, selection of skins and pelts as well as industry level basic seaming techniques of the trade by machine and hand will be demonstrated. Students will follow along making their own sample notebook to keep for reference. Basic specialty tools and materials are included in the lab fee as well as a resourcing list. BYOB for a hourlong social at the end of class. A portable zig zag sewing machine is required for the student to bring for some techniques.
